Man Hospitalized In Drive-By Bridgeport Shooting

Police responding to a report of shots fired and vehicles speeding away found shell casing and a victim who had driven himself to the hospital in Bridgeport.

The incident took place a little after midnight on Thursday, May 2, in the are of Garden Street, said Bridgeport Police spokesman Terron Jones.

Minutes after arriving at the shooting location, officers received a call from St. Vincent's Medical Center reporting a man had checked himself into the hospital with non-life threatening gunshot wounds, Jones said.

Jone said the victim reported driving himself to the hospital.

A search of the shooting area turned up shell casing, he added.
